Overhead Crane Inspection

Nobody does it better.

If it’s a crane, we can inspect it.

Mobile. Crawler. Overhead. All terrain and rough terrain. Lifting and tower. We inspect them all.

And we’re experts at it.

Our well-trained technicians are some of the best in the business. They’re thorough in every aspect of the inspection process, know OSHA standards like the backs of their hands, and are totally committed to safety in your workplace.

All of our inspectors are certified and follow a 50-point inspection checklist.  Upon completion of each inspection, we provide our customers with a full inspection report on each piece of equipment, detailing any deficiencies and recommendations for repairs needed.

We’re neutral and unbiased.

We don’t repair overhead cranes, so we don’t have anything to gain by finding problems with your equipment. If there is something wrong, we will let you know in our extremely detailed inspection reports.

Load Testing

Crane U performs all capacities of load testing, for mobile/overhead cranes and rigging equipment hoists, slings, and other lifting apparatuses as required by OSHA. We bring our portable tests weights to your site, and can do it when and where it’s convenient for you.

WE KNOW YOU PROBABLY HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS

When are overhead crane inspections required?

According to OSHA (and, of course, we’re paraphrasing) overhead crane inspections are required:

  • Frequent (Daily) — conducted by the operator
  • Periodic (Monthly) — conducted by the employer
  • Periodic (Annual)  — using an independent third party is HIGHLY recommended
  • if the piece of equipment has been modified, repaired, or adjusted in a way that has an impact on the safe operation of the overhead crane.
What about load testing?

For overhead cranes: all new, extensively repaired, or altered cranes should be tested.

Who can inspect or load test cranes?

Only companies or individuals who are qualified to perform such services. Crane U is qualified to inspect overhead cranes as per OSHA 1910, 1926, and ANSI/ASME guidelines.
